Eliana Lobo, a CoreCHI™ certified Portuguese healthcare interpreter, is a distinguished leader in language access professional training. With Master’s degrees from Brown University and a storied career spanning roles from a Medical Interpreter at RI Hospital to National Director of Interpreter Quality for InDemand.

Eliana has extensive experience in the field, having worked as Trainer & Supervisor for Harborview Medical Center’s Interpreter Services and Director of Multicultural Programs and Services for IEO (Interpreter Education Online).

Currently, she is the Director of Lobo Language Access in Tacoma, WA, consulting on language access plans, DEI, and interpreter training curricula.

An adjunct professor of healthcare interpreting and a frequent speaker at healthcare interpreter conferences, Eliana has been the voice-host for NCIHC’s “Home for Trainers” webinar series, producing over 50 training webinars since 2014.

She is the current President of the National Council on Interpreting in Healthcare and chairs the Standards and Training Committee.
